Colour Walk 2019

We would like to invite you to spend a week with us on a roof terrace near the Iles Purpuraires where at the end of the 1st century BC there was Tyrian purple factory where murex and purpura shells were processed for dye.

Colour Walk will bring a small group (max 10) of people together at the Blue Caravan Apartments to explore self and place through the spectrum colours.

The course will be structured in the morning with looser afternoons. Each morning we will explore a different practical skill book making, photography, creative writing, drawing with locally sourced coloured inks and film. At the end of each morning there will be an invitation to complete a Colour Walk gathering material for the next day. There will also be reading materials available relating to colour and in the evenings film screenings and discussion.

Colour Walk is part of a larger project Colour Mining http://www.colourmining.co.uk

The course will be run by Artist Lucy Steggals who has over 15 years experience running workshops for partners including the Hayward Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery, Royal Opera House, Kettles Yard, National Portrait ,The British Council, V&A, Tate, Wysing Arts Centre and The Royal Academy.
